- Mr. Liptak, a Yale-educated lawyer, is the Supreme Court correspondent for The
New York Times. In this position he is the leading analyst and interpreter of the work of
the High Court for most Americans and much of the rest of the world. Here he
discusses some of the challenges of covering a sometimes highly technical subject—
the law—for a mostly lay audience.
